Presentation is Everything [video]
Viewing homes in the winter can be challenging, but what makes it way worse is sellers and listing Realtors that make no effort to ready the house for showings. This house just screams low ball me.
Hey there!
Rob Reynar here checking in Whitmore Park, South Regina. It is pet peeve day, out showing some houses this morning and this is what I run into when I get into this particular house - completely unshoveled walk all the way around compounding matters. This is a corner lot. See that lots to do and none of it is done, not even up to the front step. There is just lack of pride of ownership and presentation here.
This is an absolute no no. If you’re on the market, number one - the realtor should never let this happen. If the seller’s not willing to do it, the realtor needs to get somebody who is willing to get rid of these snow. This house actually got marked out off the list today because they’re just no curb up here when you pull up, there is no energy, there is no feel and frankly they made it extremely difficult for the buyers to access the house. We have to...even with the walks not shoveled, the walk box isn’t in front of the house. It’s a round back! Now, you get to get more snow through the gate. I mean, it’s just unacceptable presentation of a listing and it’s off the list, and it had a shot today. So, think about that, when you’re listing your home, you’ve got to make the house as accessible as possible in the winter. You have to make it easy for buyers and you have to give them a reason to come back. Put your best foot forward and this is an example of NOT doing that.
