For Week Ending February 26, 2011

Activity in the region was down compared to the previous year, as New Listings dropped 15.0 percent to 102 homes added to the market. Firm Sales were down by 29.2 percent with 68 contracts written. Inventory has been following close to the same pattern as last year and was off by just 2.4 percent with 1,078 Active Listings for Sale at the end of the week.

For Week Ending February 19, 2011

New Listings were up 33.7 percent over the same week last year, as 135 homes were added to the market. That represented 34 additional properties over last year. Firm Sales also saw a jump in activity, up by 24.5 percent with 66 sales – or 13 more sales than last year.

This is NOT good news. The Novia Cafe on 12th is getting hammered by the construction on Victoria Park.. This is a superb Cafe that I was introduced to in the fall on 2010 on a visit to Regina. I was hooked, and ate lunch there for about 5 consecutive days. This would be a true loss of an institution for Regina. Get out there and support the Novia!!

New Listings remained just behind last year's levels for the second week in a row, with 115 homes added to the market – a decrease of 8.7 percent. There were 59 Firm Sales recorded, which represented a decrease of 7.8 percent. Even though listing and selling activity showed declines, the Ratio of Firm Sales to New Listings has been nearly even with last year ...
